Denver East alumnus repeats RMAC player of the week

Denver East alumnus Cole Emmanuel (’19) Colorado Mesa University was awarded RMAC (Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) defensive player of the week for Week 1 and again for Week 3 in the 2020 season.

In Week 1, Emmanuel had 19 ground balls against St. Leo and won 24-of-27 face offs while recording the first goal of his career He won the faceoff and in five seconds, he buried one in the back of the net.

Emmanuel was 34-of-35 on face offs in Week 3 and is leading the conference in ground balls averaging 9.60 a game. He is at the head of the conference with an 82.1 winning percentage and recorded almost twice as many more face offs win than any other player in the conference. He added one goal and one assist against CSU-Pueblo.

The Mavericks start the season with a 5-0 record, going 2-0 in conference games. They will play Davenport University on March 5 in Pueblo, Colo at 4 pm MT.
